Field of Interest funds are funds whereby a donor designates a special area of interest (i.e. education, arts, health, etc.) in which grants may be made from the fund.

The Foundation then seeks out worthy projects within this defined field of interest and names the grant recipient(s) within a particular field.  Whether it be in such areas as education, health, or the arts, this type of fund allows you to support a particular broad charitable cause and be assured that your gift will meet the most pressing needs within that discipline, and continue indefinitely according to your original intent.
