Donor-Designated Funds

The Fund’s income will be used to make grants to the specific organization or for that particular purpose.  The Board of Governors regularly reviews the activities of designated charities to be sure the original intentions of the donor continue to be met.

These funds are normally created to perpetually benefit one, or more, specific charities or organization that will be the recipient of grants from your fund. . Grants will be made in the name of the fund as long as the organization remains in operation and is consistent with its original charitable purpose.

If, over time, an agency benefiting from a donor designated fund goes out of business, becomes for-profit, or substantially alters its mission so that it no longer fits with the donor’s original intent, a future Foundation Board of Governors will seek out alternate beneficiaries to ensure the donor’s original charitable goals continue to be met.

Donor-Designated Funds are appropriate when you wish to specifically designate which organization will be the recipient of grants from your fund.
