The Scranton Area Foundation makes grants to foster good ideas which have the potential to strengthen our community and enrich the lives of the people of Scranton and Lackawanna County. The Foundation responds to community needs and opportunities with grants in such diverse fields as health, education, arts, environment, human services, and civic affairs.
Organizations which serve the needs of residents in Lackawanna County are encouraged to keep the Foundation informed of their programs and services and to share their ideas about addressing community needs and opportunities.
The Scranton Area Foundation recognizes the additional funding available to area non-profits for health care related projects through the NEPA Health Care Foundation, The Moses Taylor Foundation and the AllOne Foundation. The Scranton Area Foundation serves as Administrator of the NEPA Health Care Foundation. In light of this, the Scranton Area Foundation will give preference to non-health related grant requests, and recommends that health care related projects are submitted to the NEPA Health Care Foundation.
Grant application is a 2 step process, beginning with the submission of your initial Letter of Intent (LOI), followed by a Grant Application.
To assure that your grant request has the best opportunity for funding, please follow the simple steps outlined in the Grant Application Process and submit a LOI and Application that is complete, compelling, and organized in a clear and concise manner.
We do our best to match the applicants’ needs with the generosity of our donors.
