Grant Recipient of The Max Grochowski Fund Selected

The Max Grochowski Fund was established to pay tribute to the life of Maximilian J. Grochowski, a little boy who passed unexpectedly at just 16 months old. The mission of the fund is to provide charitable donations to support children’s organizations and the work of other non-profits in a manner that honors the memory of Max. The fund supports various children’s organizations such as the YMCA, mothers of multiples, and most importantly, childhood education.

The Max Grochowski Fund at the Scranton Area Community Foundation donated $1,000.00 to Dunmore Green Ridge Soccer (DGR Soccer). DGR soccer is a recreational program for children between the ages of 4-16. DGR soccer has developed into one of the premiere recreational soccer programs in NEPA. The reason for the grant is because Max loved to play soccer with his twin brother, Nathaniel, and DGR has provided the children of the community with the opportunity to have fun and play soccer in a family friendly atmosphere.

Each year, Max’s family holds events and fundraisers to benefit the Fund and raise money that will provide additional grants to the community. The next scheduled event is the Max Grochowski Memorial Golf Tourney on August 8, 2015 at Stonehedge Country Club, with a shotgun start at 2:00 p.m. For more information about the event or to participate, please contact Joe Grochowski at
