The Scranton Area Foundation is pleased to announce $10,000 in grants being made to the community through the Tomorrow’s Leaders Today (TLT) program.
TLT is a youth leadership program of Leadership Lackawanna that provides high school juniors with the opportunity to meet with community leaders and decision makers, and which includes a philanthropy curriculum conducted by The Scranton Area Foundation. This year, The Scranton Area Foundation has allocated $10,000 for students in the TLT program to grant to the community. TLT students chose to award grants to organizations in our community working to make a difference in addressing the issues of hunger, homelessness, suicide prevention, and substance abuse. Funded organizations will be: The Boys and Girls Club of NEPA, Friends of the Poor, St. Joseph’s Center, United Neighborhood Centers of NEPA and The Scranton-Lackawanna Human Development Agency, Inc.
TLT seeks to help participants realize what they can do to make a difference in their community as young philanthropists and understand and further develop their leadership skills.
The Scranton Area Foundation is proud to partner with Leadership Lackawanna in introducing the concept of philanthropy and grantmaking to our region’s youth, who are the future of Northeastern Pennsylvania.
