Now accepting applications from applicable high school students for a full scholarship for an Outward Bound experience

The Wilderness Fund at the Scranton Area Community Foundation provides a full scholarship for a select number of high school students from the following schools to participate in the Outward Bound experience: Scranton School District, West Scranton, Riverside Jr./Sr. High School, Old Forge High School, Mid Valley High School, and Valley View High School.

High school students in grades 9-12 from one of the eligible schools in Lackawanna County who are interested in tackling challenges and experiencing the rugged wilderness this summer can apply by submitting a one to two page essay via email to maggie@safdn.org by Friday, June 7, 2019, detailing how they will benefit from this experience, what they hope to learn if selected, and how much experience they have with outdoor activities. Students must be sure to include their name, contact phone number, email address, current grade level, and school district.
